[board] draft version of July/August newsletter (v 2)

 - add David's equipment notice,
 - add Malcolm's financial summary,
 - reformatted the financials so they fit on a page.

I'd like to send this out before noon tomorrow, so please get any updates to me by midnight tonight (8/4/25).
